FANFICTION WALL
CHAPTER 5 - THE BIG EVENT
The days went slowly, and I kept thinking of Nick. I couldn’t concentrate in class, and I didn’t really listen when anyone talked to me.
"So what do you think, Taylor?" Charlotte said. "What?!" I said. "Oh, come on, Taylor" Charlotte said. "You never listen to what I say? What are you thinking of?" "Well, what do you think?" I snapped.
"I can understand you’re exited about your date with Nick, but please listen to what I have to say" she said. "Of course, I’m sorry" I said. "What were you saying?"
"Well, I was thinking of asking Scott to the Prom, but Mike seems nice too, and I think that Jack is going to ask me. So who do you think I should pick?"
I had completely forgotten about the Prom. It was suppose to be the big event in three months before we graduated. "I think you should go with Scott. He’s the nicest cuz the others are too selfish. John is nice at least"
"Ya, you’re probably right" Charlotte said. "Thanx for the advice" "You’re welcome" I said.
"Who are you going with?" Charlotte asked. "I don’t know yet," I said. "That’s not my biggest worry right now" "Of course" she said. Then the bell started ringing. "What are you having?" Charlotte asked. "Science" I said with disgust. "How about you?" "American History" she said. "I’ll see you at lunch"
"Ya. Cya"
Finally it was Friday. I rushed home from school. "Hi Mom, I’m home" I said
and rushed upstairs to my room. "Hi hon" my Mom said.
When I got to my room I turned on the stereo and once again the sweet music filled my
ears.
I opened my closet. Charlotte and I had been out to buy new close for today. I pulled it out. It was a dark green dress with daffodils on it. It was very pretty and I put it on. Afterwards I tried to set my hair, but I couldn’t find anything that fit for the occasion. Then my Mom came in and helped me. She made a ponytail and put little pieces of fake hair in it in different colors. There were blue, white, green and red. It was really nice and I thanked my Mom. Then I went out to the bathroom to put on makeup.
When I was completely, it was 6.30PM. Then I just sat and waited. I was extremely nervous, and tried to keep myself from getting my face red. My face always got red when I was nervous and it was so annoying, but I’d put on a strong layer of powder, so you couldn’t see it. I actually looked really nice, which I normally didn’t say about myself. All I could do now was wait for Nick.
Nick was really nervous when he left. The boys had to convince him that it was going to be fine and that he looked great. He had put on a black suit, which wasn’t something he usually wore. He felt a bit strange in that close, but the boys said he looked great.
When he got in the car, he just wanted to turn around and go back, but he knew he had to go, he wanted to go, so he drove off to the given address.
When he got there he took one last deep breath and rang the doorbell.
An older woman answered the door. "Hello, I’m here to see Taylor" Nick said. "Yes of course, come on in" the woman said. "I’m Samantha Johnson" "Nick Carter" Nick said and shook her hand. "Taylor should be down in a minute," Samantha said. "Just make yourself at home," "Thank you" Nick said and Samantha left. Nick waited out in the hall. He felt very uncomfortable, but then he heard a voice from the top of the stairs. "Hi Nick" He looked ups and saw Taylor.
She was beautiful, more beautiful than he remembered her. The dress she was wearing looked extremely well on her, she even wore his favorite color. "Wow!" Nick said, as Taylor walked down the stairs. "You are beautiful" "Thank you" she smiled. "You look really handsome" "Thanx" he said shyly.
"So where are you taking me?" she asked. "Do you know the restaurant Peaches?" he asked.
"Ya, but isn’t it a very fancy place?" she asked. "Don’t you think were dressed to go to a fancy place?" he smiled. "Ya, you’re probably right" she smiled. "Let’s go"
I was nervous already before I saw Nick, but when I walked down the stairs, my shyness was gone with the wind. And Nick was so handsome in that suit, but then again, he was always handsome.
We walked out to the car, and he opened the door for me. "Thank you" I smiled and sat in the front seat. Nick walked over and started the car.
While we drove we talked about everything between heaven and earth and it was great that we talked so well together.
Then we got to the restaurant. It was very fancy. A red carpet ran all the way up to the reception, where you were shown to a table. The restaurant was beautiful. A chandelier in gold was hanging in the sealing and violin players walked around and played around the tables.
We were shown to our table and got our menus. When we’d ordered we started talking again.
Suddenly some girls around 13 came over to our table.
"Can we have your autograph, Nick?" they asked. "Sure thing" Nick
smiled. I looked at him and smiled.
He was very devoted to his fans, not like someone who takes his fame for granted and get all stuck-up. "Can we get a picture?" the girls asked.
"Do you mind?" Nick asked me. "No, of course not" I smiled. "Go ahead"
I looked at him while they were taking pictures. It was incredible that he could be so happy all the time. I couldn’t have done that that was for sure.
When the girls left again and Nick sat down, I asked him: "You really like your fans, don’t you?"
"Of course I do" he smiled. "They are the one’s, who brought us where we are today and we owe everything to them" "Ya, but it’s just that not many bands have realized that, but you and the others really seem to get it" I said. "We wouldn’t be as successful as we are now without our fans" Nick said. "And if we could meet and talk to every single fan, we would, but that’s just not possible.
We try to talk to as many as we can cuz we wouldn’t exist without our fans, so the least we can do is try to be friends with some of them"
After hearing him saying those words, I liked him even more than before.
We had a wonderful evening where we talked and laughed. Nick was the sweetest, most caring guy I had ever met, and I didn’t want the night to end.
We even talked about Todd, and a girl, who he had been dating, named Amber, who had broken his heart just as much as Todd had broken mine.
When the evening was over, Nick drove me home.
When we pulled up at our house, I didn’t want to leave just yet.
"It has been a lovely even Nick, I really enjoyed it" I said. "Ya, it has been" Nick said shyly, looking down at the steering wheel.
Suddenly I had an incredible urge to kiss him. He looked so lovely, just sitting there.
I leaned over, took his head in my hands and gave him a passionate kiss. At first he seemed surprised, but then he kissed me back.
We sat like that for a long time, when I suddenly pulled away.
Nick looked just as confused as I felt.
"Nick, I hope you understand that it might take a little while, before I can commit to you. I have had a hard time trusting any guy since Todd. It’s just that I like you, I really, really like you!" "I like you too" Nick said, looking at me with his deep blue eyes.
"When can I see you again?" "When you call me again" I smiled.
After giving him one last kiss, I jumped out of the car and he took off.
As I watched him drive away, I realized that I’d dragged myself into something that was impossible to get out of.
As Nick drove away, he thought about Taylor.
It had felt so great kissing her; he just wished it had been him to take the first move.
He pulled up to the hotel, where they were staying and before going into his own room; he stopped by at Brian’s. He knocked on the door. Brian was still awake.
"Come in" he said. Nick entered and closed the door behind him.
"Oh, hi Nick" Brian said. He was watching TV, an Oprah Winfrey Show.
"How was the date?" "Brian, it was great!" Nick said. "Taylor and I can talk about anything, and we have everything in common, and in the end, she kissed me" "She kissed YOU?" Brian said. "Why didn’t you take the initiative?"
"Brian, I think I’m falling for her!" Nick said seriously.
"That’s a bit serious for someone your age" Brian said and looked at Nick. "I know!" Nick said and threw himself on the bed. "But I don’t want to be with anyone but her, and she’s all I think about"
"Well, then you’re probably right" Brian said. "You are falling for her. I was never that serious with any of my girlfriends" "She’s not my girlfriend" Nick sighed. "Really! But I thought..." Brian said.
"She said she needs time to trust me completely after a nasty breakup with her previous boyfriend" Nick said. "That’s understandable," Brian said. "I just wish she’d give me a chance!" Nick said.
"She already has, Nick" Brian said. "It must have been hard for her just going out with you, if it had been such a horrible breakup she have had" "Ya, you’re right," Nick said. "I’ll wait for her till she’s ready" "Wait a second" Brian said and walked over to Nick. "Are you telling me you’re in love with her?"
"I don’t know, Brian" Nick said and ran his fingers through his hair.
"But I know I gotta see her again" "I wouldn’t wanna be in your shoes, man" Brian smiled.
"I just wish I knew what to do, Brian" Nick said. "You will. At some point, you will" Brian smiled. "But right now you gotta go and get some sleep. You must be tired" "Yeah, I am" Nick said and stood up. "Thanx for listening, B-Rok. I needed that"
"Any time, Nick" Brian smiled and Nick left into his own room.
All the five guys had connected rooms where the doors could be locked. Nick locked both his doors.
One door led to Brian’s room and the other to Howie’s.
Nick went to bed, and fell to sleep thinking of Taylor and their date.
