The Christian Soldier
Ephesians 6:10-20
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
We are trully facing a time where people have drifted away from God and the instructions given to us in the Bible. Through this site I hope to enlighten people and bring more people to Christianity.
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places"
- Ephisians 6:12
Recently we have seen a U.S. based company come under attack by non-Christians.
Trijicon makes scopes for rifles, some of which are sold to to U.S. military.
These scopes contain Bibles verses encoded into thier serial numbers. These
numbers end with such things as JN8:12, which refers to John 8:12,
"Then Jesus
spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me
shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”"
The sights use
tritium, a radioactive form of hydrogen, to create light and help shooters hit
what they're aiming for, thus all the verses relate to "Light" in some way.
Trijicon's website says its vision is, "Guided by our values, we endeavor to
have our products used wherever precision aiming solutions are required to
protect individual freedom." It adds, "We believe that America is great when its
people are good. This goodness has been based on biblical standards throughout
our history and we will strive to follow those morals."
The coded verses have been said to violate Department of Defense policy
prohibiting U.S. troops of proselytizing of any faith in Afghanistan or Iraq.
However, A spokesman for U.S. Central Command initially said the Trijicon sights
didn't violate the ban and compared the citations on the sights to the "In God
We Trust" inscription printed on U.S. currency. When first brought to Trijicon's
attention they held thier ground and stated that they would not stop encoding
the Bible verses on thier sights.
Within days Trijicon has not only announced that it will stop encoding the
sights with Bible verses but, it will also provide, free, modification kits to
remove the verses from sights already in use. Thus ending a "Thirty" year
practice. This came after Army Gen. David Petraeus, Central Command's top
officer, called the practice "disturbing."
I have to wonder if Trijicon changed its mind so quickly do to its practice
being "disturbing" or because the Goverment pays them multimillion dollar
contracts to provide more that 300,000 sights to the military.
I have to point out also that thier are people that want to take "Under God" off
the Pledge of Alligiance, "In God We Trust" off our money, and any mention of
God anywhere. We have seen prayer removed from schools, Bibles removed from
school libraries, and the Ten Commandments removed from courthouses.
If anyone does not believe that there is a battle going on and that we are not
soldiers of Christ, they only need to look at these things. We truly are
wresting "against principalities. against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this age"
