Why I became a Police Officer
Welcome back to my Law Enforcement page.
Well as you know I got hired by Auburndale, FL. on Jan. 21, 2002, so its been about a year and a half now. So far I have to say I still love the job. I have to say that I do feel I've been fortunate thus far. I say this because I have yet to have any one really fight me or be uncooperative with me. Ive had one or two scuffles and some chases, but nothing serious.
I've spoken to some people I went to the academy with and they tell stories of fights they have been in and I have to wonder, why are they getting in so many fights.
I thought maybe it was that I haven't ran in to the fighting type yet but, my supervisor, Sgt. Houser (pictured above on the left with Cpl. Flora), said maybe its because I talk to people better then they do. Talk can make all the difference between fighting with someone and getting them to come along nicely, so Maybe hes right. My Sgt.'s a pretty good guy and he cares about making sure the people he works with go home safe everyday. I've told him there are days I could cheerfully strangle him though.
