It was not until 2 years after the murders that Rolling was caught. He was already in prison with a life sentence for robbing a Winn-Dixie and for other robberies as well. Past cellmates helped with the case by describing how on numerous occasions Rolling had bragged about the murders. DNA evidence proved Rolling was their man. On Feb. 15, 1994, the first juror was selected in the capital trial of THE STATE OF FLORIDA VS. DANNY ROLLING. After a two month trial Rolling was sentenced to death and charged with five counts of first degree murder. He is still alive and on death row at the Florida State Prison in Starke, Florida.
