Fighting poverty in rural America since 1962
Because it feels good to help someone you know!

OUR MISSION

Enhance the lives of individuals and families living in rural poverty by matching them with other Americans who offer friendship and material aid, and by providing educational and vocational training opportunities, empowering them to break their cycle of poverty.

Since 1877, more than 1.7 million of New York City's neediest children have benefited from free summer vacations away from the city streets through The Fresh Air Fund. The Fresh Air Fund is a not-for-profit agency and depends on the generosity of contributors. Children are selected to participate in Fresh Air Fund programs based on financial need and are from low-income families, with the majority receiving some form of public assistance. Click on the above link to visit the Fresh Air fund, and if you can help, please do so!!

"The mission of the Todd M. Beamer Foundation is to equip children experiencing family trauma to make heroic choices everyday. Today, the Todd M. Beamer Foundation is taking Todd’s legacy of character, faith and courage to a new generation of young people through our program, Heroic Choices." "Children who have lost parents -- and those who witnessed the attacks first-hand -- face serious long-term mental health needs. Meeting the mental health needs of the victims and families of September 11 is the future of many organizations, including the Todd M. Beamer Foundation."
After a tragic event, many times the mental health needs of children are overlooked. Thanks to such organizations as this one, there is hope for our future.
