Lirisa, also known as 'Lady Disco,' was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia. She later moved to what was known as Star City where the cosmonauts trained. She spoke fluent English and had a job teaching the cosmonauts how to do interviews with the press and other communications skills. Star City was closed down after the space program was canceled for lack of funds.
She then moved back to Moscow where she met Tommy while he was working there. She moved to Texas with Tommy in August 2000. During the time she was in Texas she did indeed become a true Southern Lady. Her heart became filled with that true Texas pride. Of course Tommy may have had something to do with that.
Lirisa was born September 28, 1954 in Moscow Russia, died June 11, 2002 in Houston Texas. She had been a survivor and warrior of that dreaded disease breast cancer. Her husband is flying her to Russia to be buried with her family. She is survived by her husband Tommy and her many friends, to whom we extend our heartfelt prayers and condolences.
In lieu of flowers, cards or emails, the family requests donations, in Lirisa's name, to the American Cancer Society.

Love Lives On
Those we love are never really lost to us we feel them in so many special ways through friends they always cared about and dreams they left behind, in beauty that they added to our days in words of wisdom we still carry with us and memories that never will be gone... Those we love are never really lost to us for everywhere their special love lives on.

It will be the little things that you will remember the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter, And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memory of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again
