When I was real little I'd sit at your knee And you'd tell me stories While I listened with glee. Then the time came And my school days did start I'm sure the first day I went Gave a tug at your heart. As I continued to grow There were friendships I'd form We girls would whisper and giggle Yes, that is the norm. For with my Barbies And paper dolls we did play But time was sure passing These got thrown away. Wow the day finally came Yes, I was a teen And as most teen girls do I thought I was a queen. Then came high school And the crushes on boys I'm sure you and Dad wished I'd go back to my toys. But somehow we made it Got through those teen years Of course it was done With much laughter and tears. The big day it came For your little girl to marry And one day I whispered "Mom, a babe I do carry." And on one Mother's Day I had my own little girl She was our ray of sunshine Our hearts were awhirl! A few years went by Til one cold February morn Came another bundle of joy And my son was born! Mom, your love's always been there Throughout all my years Even though we've had sorrow Yes, we've shed many tears. Now I'm proud of you There could never be another Who......in my eyes, Could measure up to you, "My Mother" ~Author-Lynn Kitchene~ Written April 26th, 2002 ~~To You Mom With Much Love~~ on all of my webpages.
