"Alright girls, wake up!" Stevie called, walking into Rosie, Laura, and Aurora’s room, opening the blinds, and letting the light shine through.
"Stevie, its Saturday! I want to sleep in!" Laura whined, pulling the covers over her head.
"Did you forget that we’re practicing and that the auditions are today?"
"Holy shit I almost forgot!" Rosie exclaimed, getting up and running to the bathroom.
"But we practiced all night. Do we have to do more?"
"Laura, I know you want this as much as all of us do. So, we gotta make it look perfect."
"Ok, sine you put it that way. I’ll get up."
"Good, now get Aurora up." Stevie left the room and went to her and Jade’s room.
Laura crawled out of her bunk and went over to Aurora’s bed. She shook her a little.
"Aurora, it’s time to wake up."
"It’s too early. Go away" Aurora mumbled.
"We gotta practice. The auditions are today."
"It’s Saturday already?"
"Yeah, believe it or not. So, get up!" Laura pulled the covers off of her.
"Why does it have to be so early?"
"I dunno, ask Stevie."
"Ugh! Fine, I’ll get up so that we’ll be ready on time."
She sat up and rubbed her head.
"Good, now if Rosie’ll hurry up, I can take a shower."
"Who ever said you were first?"
"Me, myself, and I."
‘I don’t think so."
"Aurora, don’t be so unfair."
"I was just kidding." Aurora laughed. Laura just smiled.
Rosie came back into the room, dressed with a towel on her head.
"Finally. Could you have taken any longer?" Laura said, grabbing her towel and walked out of the room.
"I didn’t take that long." Rosie called back.
"You know Laura, she’s impatient. Always has been." Aurora laughed.
"True. Man, I’m so nervous about today."
"You don’t show it."
"Yeah, well I never show it, but I’m nervous as hell."
"It’ll all be ok, Rosie. Don’t worry."
Before Rosie would respond, Jade came into the room, dressed and ready.
"Morning girls, are you ready for today?"
"Yeah, ready as we’ll ever be." Rosie replied, sounding a little unsure.
"She’s nervous about today." Aurora told Jade.
"Aw, it’s ok to be nervous, Rosie. I’m a nervous wreck; I’m just trying to hide it."
"See Ro; Jade hides it just like I do."
"I know and y’all need help. It isn’t good to keep it all inside."
"Yeah, yeah, we know. Don’t worry, it’ll be all good when we have to audition." Jade said.
"It better be." Aurora teased.
"Dude, you’ve been hanging out with Jade too much, Ro. You’re starting to act like her." Rosie said, trying to hide her laughter.
"Hey, I’m not acting like Jade! Don’t say that!"
"But it’s true, you are. What are you going to become out mother type now?"
"No! I’ll never be like that! I don’t want to be like Jade."
"Hey, did y’all forget that I’m standing right here? Boy, I feel such love from you two." Jade pouted and turned to leave.
"Jade wait! We were only teasing." Rosie and Aurora ran up to her and hugged her.
"I know, so was I." Jade laughed.
"Ok, good. Do you mind if I borrow your shower? Since Laura is in the other one."
"Yeah sure, go ahead."
Aurora got her towel and went into Stevie and Jade’s room to take a shower.
"Are you going to be ok?" Jade asked Rosie.
"Yeah, I’ll be fine."
"Ok, if you need to talk or anything, you know I’ll be there for you."
"Yeah, I know. Thanks Jade."
Jade smiled and left the room, to let Rosie finish getting ready.
Within two hours the girls were all ready. They were dressed in the outfits they were wearing to the auditions, they had the music to the songs they’d be doing ad they were all set. They went to the gym near their apartment to do more practicing before they had to go to the auditions.
They practiced for about an hour and then went to the place the auditions were being held at. There were a bunch of other girls there too, almost two thousand.
"Holy shit! I didn’t think there’d be that many people here." Rosie said, shocked.
"Everyone wants a record deal right now. It’s like the thing." Stevie explained.
"Yeah, I know, but I didn’t think it was that many people."
"And this is just Chicago, think about the rest of the world." Laura replied.
"True, I guess y’all are right."
"Let’s go sign up and practice a little more." Jade said.
They signed up and went to a corner of the room to do a little more practicing. They wouldn’t be called in for about another hour. They practiced, calming their nerves. An hour and a half went by and they were called.
"Stevie, Jade, Aurora, Roseanne, and Laura. You can go in now." The lady who signed them in called. They hugged each other and went into the auditioning room, where they saw 3 judges.
"Good afternoon ladies. My name is Tom, and these are my partners Rachel, and Rob. We’ll be judging you on your vocal ability together, and solo and your dancing ability. First, tell us each of your names and ages."
"Ok, I’m Jade Armstrong and I’m 20."
"Hey, I’m Stevie Richards, and I’m 19."
"Hi I’m Aurora Nava de Morales and I’m 18."
"Hi, I’m Roseanne Reyes and I’m also 18."
"Hello, I’m Laura Yates, and I’m 17, the baby of the group."
"Do you have a group name?" Rachel asked.
"Yes, we’re Angel Dreams." Stevie informed them.
"That’s a cool group name." Rob said.
"Thank you." All 5 of them said in unison.
"Alright, let’s start by all of you singing a song together. It can either be one of your own or a cover. Oh and by the way we’ll be recording your performance, so we can judge each group properly." Tom said.
"Ok, that’s fine. We’re going to perform a song that all of us wrote together, called ‘Broken Hearts.’" Jade said.
"Ok, go ahead." Rob replied.
The girls began to do the song a capella and each of them hit each note on key and did it almost perfectly. The judges were very impressed. They finished the song, smiling.
"That was very good, girls. Ok, let’s do the solos."
Stevie went first, then Aurora, Jade, Laura, and Rosie. Although all of them were extremely nervous, they didn’t show it at all. The judges applauded them. They were asked questions about their personality, if they had boyfriends and why they wanted to be famous and they all gave honest, good answers.
"Alright girls, you did great today. You all can go home and relax some, we’ll call you after we’re done reviewing all the tapes to let you know if you made it or not. Have a great day." Tom said, shaking each of their hands.
"Thank you very much. Bye." Jade said. The 5 girls left the building, smiling from ear to ear. They went home, excited more than they were before.
"This day turned out to be great." Laura smiled, stretching out on the couch, yawning a little.
"And a very exhausting one too, but well worth it." Aurora agreed, sitting on the Lazi-boy chair next to the couch, putting her legs over the arm.
"Even if we don’t get it, it was still a lot of fun and I’m glad we did it." Jade said, sitting on the floor.
"That’s for sure." Stevie agreed. Rosie shook her head in agreement.
They were exhausted, but they had a great day. Stevie, Jade, and Rosie laid on the floor and fell asleep. Laura and Aurora fell asleep where they were on the couch and chair...
