"And that is what happened the day you two first came into our lives." Terri said, as she stood up from sitting on Carolina's bed.

"I like that story, Mama. Can you tell us another one?" 5 year-old Carolina asked from her bed.

"Not tonight sweetie, its time for sleep." Terri brushed Carolina's bangs away from her cherubic face.

"Please Mama? I want to hear the story about you and Daddy meeting again." TJ called from his bed on the other side of the room.

Terri leaned down and gave Carolina a kiss.

"Not tonight kiddo," she said walking over to his bed. She bent down for his goodnight kiss. "I think we'll have to save that story for next time."

The phone rang in the hallway, and Terri rushed to answer it.

"Hello?" She asked, standing in the twin's bedroom door.

"Hey, love. How is everything?"

"Wonderful." Terri smiled, picturing the man on the other end of the line. "You have perfect timing. I was just putting the kids to bed."

"Is that Daddy?" TJ looked excited.

"Yes it's Daddy. Do you want to say goodnight?" Both children eagerly nodded their heads. Terri flipped on the speakerphone, hanging up the handset.

"Hi Daddy!" The children chorused.

"Hey you two. Are you being good for your Mother?" He asked.

Both children nodded, forgetting their father couldn't see them.

"They're angels. But, I think our angels need to go to sleep."

"Will you sing us song, Daddy?" Carolina asked, yawning.

"Of course." Softly he began the lullaby that had serenaded his children at their birth, and every night since. Terri smiled at the sleeping children, remembering her vow. The next story she told them would be how she met their daddy.
