In the wake of having a losing streak, Chile played Paraguay for the 2002 World Cup Qualifying game in Santiago. In the midst of flooding conditions in Santiago (including the stadium), Chile won the game with a 3-1 victory over Paraguay. For the full highlights,

Wednesday will be the game versus Bolivia in La Paz. Chile needs to win if they want to stir up any heads for the race for the World Cup. The last time Chile played in La Paz, they tied 1-1 for the race for the 98' World Cup. Two problems that Chile will face are first the the Bolivian team, and second, more importantly, the altitude(3600 meters). Chile has promised that they will not come out empty handed. We'll see. Bad News! Chile was defeated by Bolivia yesterday by 1 goal. This is a dissapointing loss the for the chilean team. They now face elimination to perhaps go to Japan & S.Korea. Personally, CHILE SUCKS! Im am very disappointed by their play on wednesday. Now, all we need is to lose to Venezuela in 2 weeks. For now, im going to collect my thoughts and think positive. ??
