Some Links To Help You Learn About The Australian Shepherd

Despite the name, the Australian Shepherd was developed in the United States of America and was only recently introduced to Australia. It is believed that the name evolved because the breed was such a good worker it was assumed that it had originated in Australia which is renowned for other excellent working breeds.
The Australian Shepherd is intelligent and good natured with an even disposition. A loyal companion, reserved with strangers, the Australian Shepherd requires large amounts of excercise (both mental and physical) so if they are not used as a herding dog, obedience, agility or other dog sports are recommended.
