Ok, now we are going to try cover some useful words in order to construct sentences. ie.:- I, you, the, to, etc. This is a basic lesson and should be easy for learners of all levels to understand...
I: Ek
Me: My
You: Jou, Jy, u
The: Die
A: n
Is: is
Are: is
To: toe
And: en
Where: waar
What: wat
Why: hoekom
When: wanneer
Can: Kan
O.K: TOP
Go: gaan, sal
There: daar
Because: omdat
Them: hulle
They: hulle
Come: kom
Came: gekom
Here: Hier
Here are a couple of examples using the above...
Ek is jammer -(I am sorry)
Hulle gerkom en oorneem -(They came and invaded)
Hier is ek -(Here I am)
I wanted to single this one out as it is a little more tricky than the others. Saw - as in the sentence I saw a car. This is a little different than adding one word to the sentence. Have a look...
Ek het n motor geseen.
As you can see, you need two words in order to convey that you saw something. It is easy once you know how to do it.
Ok, let's use another example. Let's say you got really angry and you wanted to say to somebody "I saw red". You would simply say,
Ek het rooi geseen
Just remember to add het before what you saw and geseen after what you saw. I hope this is making sense. It will be far easier when you use it.
