..When you are hired you are given the Disney Look handbook and most of the handbooks that are needed. We had to be dressed in the "Disney Look" to attend Traditions. At the beginning to learn names a Tigger koosh jumped (was thrown) table to table; we said our names and where we were working. We had a game where each table had to name as many characters as they could in 90 sec. At my table I was chosen to write since I was a "Disney Queen" ; I named 39.
This might be something new; our lunch was on Disney (we only were paid 72% of our hourly wage). After lunch we went in to the tunnels for the tour. The group I was with was a broad group. Mainly reservationists from Tampa but there were housekeepers, doormen/bell hops, life guards and one person who was going to be a character at Epcot for the 2000 Celebration. We walked through the tunnels and then up main street to FantasyLand.
Then we returned to the class room for a skit. I participated so I got a character. Next we talked about what is special about Disney and so on. We had to answer Disney trivia questions as a team; if we needed help there were photos down stairs but they were repainting so none of the photos were dated. Those not familiar with the parks had a hard time.
I'm a Disney World Fan so I knew the dates. The next day was for the employee's handbook and harrassment/leagal discussions. Not as interesting as the day before. But necessary. My training starts on Monday. I will be touring the hotels and parks as part of my training.
