----Glass or Pyrex Beads----
Glass or Pyrex are very nice but will cost you a pretty cent. There isn't many place online you can find them... but go to you local head shop, and they may have them or ask about the glass blower(s), they may be willing to make you a couple beads. Check out the links page for resources.

----Bamboo beads----
My favorite! Mainly because i make them myself... bamboo grows in my back yard. Bamboo also comes in all different sizes, which is great because dreadlocks come in all different sizes! I've only seen bamboo beads once, they were in a boutique. So, i dunno... if you really want some, just keep a sharp eye out....

---- Other beads----
Wood, plastic, bone, brass, copper, metal, shell... ect.... can be found at craft & bead stores.

----Peyote Stiches----

----Wraps----
Wraps are a lot of fun. You can use almost anything to wrap your dreads with... cloth, yarn, & hemp are commonly used. Check out the links page for resources.

SUPPLIES

----Dread Comb----
You will need a flea comb if your going to use the backcomb method.

----Rubber Bands----
Certainly not necessary, and some people think it slows down the locking process. However, i thought they were great in the beginning for keeping the roots apart.... i hated ripping them apart, ouch!

----Shower Ca ----
Certainly not necessary, but great for days you don't want to get your dreads wet... a plastic grocery bag would also work.

----Spray Bottles----
Are needed for some of the remedies found on this site

----blow dryer----
If you are finding you dreadlocks are taking a long time to dry, a blow dryer is a great way to dry it quickly, just use the cold setting so you don't fie your hair

----Super Absorbent Towel----
Helps dry dreadlocks better
