The Investigation

There were, at one time, 150 investigators on the task force formed to investigate the Gainesville, Florida murders of the five college students at The University Of Florida.  Team 1 followed up all leads in the Williamsburg Village murders. Team 2 and Team 3,had responsibility for the Hoyt murder and the Gatorwood murders. Team 4 was to track down all information on promising suspects. On September 7, 1990, Danny Rolling, robbed a Winn-Dixie in Ocala, Florida with a .38 cal. Colt revolver. After the robbery, a chase ensued, and Danny Rolling crashed, wrecking his car. After the robbery he is incarcerated in the Marion County Jail. It took the police until May 31, 1991 to consider Danny as the prime suspect in the Gainesville murders.
