There has recently been a great deal of reminiscing about the great league, and group of owners that have been assembled in this league. Many owners have come and gone, but the core group of primetime owners has remained. This site is dedicated to the history assembled by a league older than any of my children. It is a tribute to the dedication and comradery of the great owners, and the bonds created through trades, rivalries, and adversity. Please feel free to ad your experiences by clicking the submit button on the top left of the page. To quickly go to a teams history please click the team above. Please be patient as teams update their history. Also, I would love any pictures anyone has from any of the drafts or league events. Thanks.

Revenge History

Overall History

The Revenge is an original team and owner to the league. The team name has changed prior to the founding of the Independence league, with such wining names as The Bean blossom Nannies (that was a real winner) and Pates Predators. Although never wining the league, the Revenge has been in the top 5 several times.

League Rival

Rodney Smith- Rod is always in the hunt and presents a challenge every time you play him. Plus the fact he used my team as his own personal farm team for several years.

Best Player Drafted

Sterling Sharpe( 1st pick ever..)

Worst Player Drafted

Ki Jana Carter

Best Trade

Too many to remember just one

Worst Trade

Again there have been several. I once traded Rodney, Sterling Sharpe for Brett Perriman, Marion Butts, Gary Coleman, and Willie Nelson......oh yea, and the time I traded Barry Sanders for Lawrence Phillips is one I am still in therapy for.

Best FA pick up

I will have to research this one.....

Funniest Moment

The Dillman Flying Monkeys taking Curtis Enis and Ryan Leaf with the #1 and #2 overall picks.

Saddest Moment

The Dillman Flying monkeys taking Curtis Enis and Ryan Leaf with the #1 and #2 overall picks. Oh, and being up by 50 points on the Liberty going into the Sunday night game, only to have Shaun Alexander score 5 tds in the first half

Oh, sweet revenge

Frogtown Sissygirls History

Overall History

Originally, came into the Independence League as the Great Britain Unionjacks. Won the league in 1999 and 2000. Was invited by Paul Kuchar to join because he knew eventually Jenny would have a team and he needed a wingman for her to release on and keep things at home honeymoonish. My original name was based on my first son Britain, but had to change it to the West Lakes Birdbiscuits when my second son, Nolan came. Britain's nickname is bird and Nolan's was biscuit. Our third son, Colton came and we built a home outside of Frogtown last year. Sissygirls are what I call my boys to get under their skin so thus, Frogtown Sissygirls was born. At the present time, the Sissygirls are only in this league but have pressured the front office for openings and creation of an ultimate fantasy league where you can draft collegiate players also.

League Rival

I guess if I had to pick one it would be Paul, because I know him the best.

Best Player Drafted

Bogard Creek Crawdads History

Overall History

I am an original member (from the days of Willis' Wizards) who was extorted out of $20 by Bill Nartker before I could manage my own team. Thanks Bill.

Ever since then my team has been eternally cursed. Only my pride keeps me from giving up year after year. My name was changed this year to the Redskins thanks to a foolish bet with Mr. Kuchar.

League Rival

I have several natural rivals in the league...
My brother Jamie, my sister-in-law Lisa, my cousin Matt, my college roommate Paulie, and of course my farm team owner Chachi.

Best Player Drafted

Tie - My yearly attempts to draft Barry Foster and OJ Simpson

Worst Player Drafted

No one will ever top Boots and the Enis/Leaf debacle

Best Trade

I have screwed Tim so many times that he no longer trades with me, but here is my favorite...
I got Tim Brown (when he was 22 or so) for Gary Clark (he was about 95). Clark retired mid-season while Brown was a top 5 WR.

Worst Trade

I will have to think about this one

Best FA pick up

Priest Holmes

Funniest Moment

Paul's email debate with the guy (what was his name?) who felt we should except his lineups by Pony Express since he was on the Appalachian trail.

Saddest Moment

Tie - 1. Watching the slide show of myself clad in Redskin Red after my team was renamed. 2. In '99 I led the league after 12 weeks and lost five straight games to finish out of the money. See, I am cursed

Comments

Props to Timmy for the walk down memory lane.

BallBuster History

Overall History

The BallBusters franchise is only two years old but has quickly rose to the top of the food chain. I tried several times to get into this league…only to be vetoed by Paul. However, I actually ran a team several years ago for the guy on the Ozark trail. I drafted his team twice and put line ups in for him every week.  I believe that team went to the Gigolos and won the league. I will win this league too…give me time.

League Rival

Gigolos & Liberty…always

Best Player Drafted

Amos Zereoue

Worst Player Drafted

Not sure there are several pick one

Best Trade

Jamal Lewis trade with Paul

Worst Trade

Do not have one yet…maybe one of those 7th rounder for the rest of someone else’s draft picks.

Best FA pick up

M.Shipp thus far

Funniest Moment

Watching you all take this league from Rusty and renaming it the Independence League…very nice. CHUCK wow he was funny too. Those people came with you guys and they still hung out with Rusty talk about MUNITIY.

Saddest Moment (not mine)

Watching all the “older” wiser teams beg for scraps while the 3 expansion teams wipe your noses for you.

Comments

What is wrong with the Pony Express? Did anyone see Postman? We need more men like that! LOL

New England Liberty History

Overall History

I entered this league in 1997 as the Kendallville Park Rats. I finished dead last for the only time in my fantasy football endeavors. In 1998, I changed my name to the New England Liberty and won the league, setting the stage for Mike Isaacs to be the second straight last-to-first winner in 1999.

League Rival

Big Country, Grape Ape, and Rodney Smith will always be my main rivals.

Best Player Drafted

D. Culpepper (#1 overall 2000)

Worst Player Drafted

Ron Dayne (#3 overall 2000)

Best Trade

03-27-99 Liberty traded S. Hicks and the 2nd overall ‘99 to Arcola for M. Harrison.

Worst Trade

06/22/99 Liberty traded S. McNair,
M.Harrison, 19th overall '99, 36th overall '99, and 3rd round '00 to Crawdads for M. Brunell, D. Levens, and 2nd round '00.

Best FA pick up

11-20-98 Liberty add A. Green.

Funniest Moment

Matt Boots trading his best players to me for the #1 and #2 overall picks in 1998.

Saddest Moment

Matt Boots using the #1 and #2 overall picks to draft C. Enis and R. Leaf.

Tim, thank you for your great additions to the E*OFFICE! I encourage you all to add your talents to this or the other leagues. (We could use a message board....)
