I Make A DifferenceYes I Am!One of the positions at the front desk is the Transportation Greeter, who is located at the resort bus stop. On Thursday October 19th I was a Greeter. It was a beautiful, busy morning, and there were about 20 guests at the bus stop at about 9:15AM. As usual, I was talking to the different parties as they arrived at the bus stop, so I would know where they going to help them get on the correct bus. While I talked to the guests, I also always pay attention to what's going on around me. On this particular morning, I saw a blue bag that had been left on the bench by one of the parties. I remembered that there were three guests that were around age 70-80 years old waiting at that spot, who gotten on the Magic Kingdom Bus #4811 9:22AM. First I called the transportation office to let them know the bus information-bus number and the time. Secondly, I brought the blue bag to the valet station, and opened the bag with other cast members to find out more informtion about the guests. Looking in the bag, we saw that there was some medicine, as well as what looked like items that would be needed as soon as possible. We also saw some personal things with their name on them. It was clear to me that they could NOT wait to pick up the bag after coming back from the theme park. I had a feeling that they would need those items as soon as possible. The valet helped me to find out the guest's hotel room number, and let me use their phone, and I used my phone as well to handle the issue. I also asked the valet if they had a driver available who could deliver the bag. If not, I would try to get the runner to deliver the bag to the Magic Kingdom bus station, or maybe let the next bus driver take it to there? What actually ended up happening was that the blue bag was delivered by the next Magic Kingdom bus driver at 9:34 AM. |
On Saturday October 21 at 8:50AM, one of the guests from the party came to the bus stop to say thank you again for the magic that I made for them that day. At about 9:10AM the other three guests came to the bus stop, and gave me a warm thank you HUG to say good bye. At that moment, I realized I had made a lifetime memory for those guests at WDW.
