The job I have now is a dream come true! It was a couple of years ago when I chose to enter the hospitality field at Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii. I wanted to work at the front desk. On January 2006 I left the ticket booth position, and moved to the resort front desk position. In the last 3 months, I have had a great opportunity because I have been deployed to 8 different resorts and learning about different types of resorts- Luxury, Moderate, Value, Vacation Club.
Luxury resorts have a concierge floor, health club, lounge, private dining, business center, bell service/valet, convention center, vacation club, etc.(guests seem to have high demands)
What happens at a Moderate Resort is that we provide a variety of guest services. The tasks include airline check-in, check cashing and cash from credit cards, giving information about Disney Magical Express etc.(handling a lot of tasks both at the front desk & back office)
Last week, I also had a chance to work at Value resort. Here there is a lot that is similar to working in the Moderate Resort. Some differences are luggage handling, transportation, etc. (there are more families on vacation-staying longer)

I now see that the knowledge I learned at the community college is really helping me in the real world, and I am actually using that knowledge in my job. Walt Disney World is a well-known company to create dreams for guests. I love to work with people as a team, who respect and support each other-this is also my own mission statement.
At the end of May, I was deployed to different vacation club resorts to learn more. For example: shipping, payments on N$,MP,R$, M$ and International member's payments.
After June, most of the time, I am working at my home resort, and I am still enjoying my exciting job at WDW.
As time passed, I made many memories of my work experience at the front desk in WDW. "Thank you to each and everyone in the front desk department working together as a great team. This allowed me to create Dreams and Magical Moments for our guests."
