Roland Meets A Man In The Desert Named Brown. He Tells The Story Of
Tull Where The Man He Is Chasing, (The Man In Black) Left A Trap For
Him A Few Weeks Before By Reviving A Man That Had Died. The Man In Black Convinced The
Town He Was A Man Of God Acompaning This Miracle And Telling Sylvia
Pittston, (The Town Preacher) That The Man Following Him Is Satan. The
Town Then Attempts To Do Away With Roland And Roland Responds By Killing
Everyone In Tull.

Roland Comes Upon The Way Station And Meets A Boy Named Jake. He
Hypnotises The Boy And Jake
Tells Him That He Was Killed By A Man In A Priest
Uniform In Our World. He Was Pushed In Front Of A Car In Our Present
Day New York City, And Appeared In Roland's World.

Jake Tells Roland There Is A Basement In The Way Station. Roland
Decides To Check It Out And Finds A Speaking Demon. The Demon Tells Him;
"Go Slow Past The Drawers, Gunslinger. While You Travel With The Boy,
The Man In Black Travels With Your Soul In His Pocket". Roland Punches A
Hole In The Wall And Pulls Out A Jawbone. He Puts The Jawbone In His
Back Pocket And He And Jake Set Out Into The Desert Once Again.

Cuthbert Overhear Hax The Cook Plotting To Deliver Poisoned Meat To The
Children Of Farson, In The Name Of The Good Man. Roland And Cuthbert Watch
As Hax Is Hung For Treason.

Roland And Jake Reach The Foothills Of The Mountains. Jake
Wanders Into An Oracle And Is Nearly Killed. Roland Rescues Him And Gives
Him The Jawbone From The Way Station. Roland Goes To The Oracle To Reveal
His Prophecy. The Oracle Tells Him Three Is The Number Of His Fate, The
Boy Is Roland's Way To The Man In Black, The Man In Black Is The Gateway
To The Three, And The Three Are The Way To The Tower. Jake Throws Away The
Jawbone As An Unlucky Talisman And They Set Off Again.

Roland Come Face To Face With The Man In Black. He Says "We Will Palaver
On The Other Side, Just The Two Of Us". And Disapears Into A Cavern That
Leads Into The Mountain. Roland And Jake Follow, Knowing Roland May Sacrifice
The Boy To Get To The Man In Black.

His Mother Forcing Him Into An Early Test Of Manhood. Roland Challenges And Defeats
Cort, With David The Hawk, Becoming A True Gunslinger And Earning His
Fathers Apprentice Guns.

His Guns And Silences The Threat. They Come To A Trestle With The River
Flowing Underneath, Glimpsing The First Sign Of Daylight. Behold, The Man
In Black Beckons In The Light, And Jake Loses His Footing Grabbing The
Trestle On His Way Down. The Man In Black Says "Come Now Gunslinger, Or Catch
Me Never!" Roland Chooses The Man In Black Over Saving The Boy, And Jakes
Falls Into The Abyss. The Gunslinger And The Man In Black Palaver. The
End Of The Beginning.

Tarot Cards And Sends Him A Vision Of The Creation Of The Universe. At
The End Roland See's A Single Blade Of Grass, And It's Purple.

Now Draw 3 From The Western Sea. Walter Casts Magic And When Roland
Wakes Up He Finds He Is 10 Years Older And Walter Is Dead. Only A Pile
Of Bones And A Robe Remain. Roland Takes His Jawbone As A Talisman And
The Story Ends When Roland Sits Facing The Sun On The Sands Of The Western Beach.

The Gunslinger Awakens On The Shore Of The Western Beach
By A Wave That Has Soaked His Guns And Most Of His Bullets. Some Or All
May Or May Not Work. The Gunslinger Encounters A Large Crustation On
The Beach Similar To A Lobster, Although Much Larger And Weighing About
70 Pounds. The "Lobstrocity", As Roland Calls It, Manages To Get The
Jump On The Weary Gunslinger And Removes The First And Second Fingers
On His Right Hand. There Is Also Some Major Damage To His Leg And Large
Toe. Roland Sees Major Complications Ahead.

The Gunslinger Heads North Tward The Number Of His Fate.
His Serious Injuries Have Become Infected, And He Does Not Know How
Much Longer He Can Go On. After Falling Several Times, (Almost For The
Last Time) And Suffering From A Ravaging Fever, He Sees Something On
The Beach, Less Than A Mile Ahead. No Doubt About It, It's A Door.

The Gunslinger Views It From One Side. But From The Other,
It Disapears. And Writ On The Door Are The Words "The Prisoner". Roland
Opens The Door To Discover He Is Actually Looking Through A Man's Eyes.
Roland Enters And Understands The Man Is The Prisoner, And He Realizes
He Appears To Be On Some Sort Of Air Carrage. He Looks Back TThrough The
Door To See His Body Lying On The Sand. He Can Return At Anytime. He
Realizes He Can Hear The Man's Thoughts, Access His Knowledge And Even
Control Him If Necessary. He Orders A Sandwich On The Plane, Holds It
In His Palms And Retreats Through The Open Door.
