Space Exploration Involvement Photo History


a.) Echo-1 Balloon Satellite that was launched August 12 1960 and inspired me to be an aerospace engineer.

b.) Apollo -16 Saturn-V Launch April 16 1972, I attended the launch as a press correspondent.

c.) Apollo-17 Saturn-V Night Launch Dec 7 1972, I viewed the launch from press site

d.) Skylab Space Station Launch May 14 1973, I attended the launch as a press correspondent.

e.) STS-1 Columbia Space Shuttle sits on pad 39A

f.) STS-1 Columbia Launch April 12, 1981, I attended the launch with my future wife, Rachel Ruder.

g.) STS-8 Pad electrical storm and Night Landing at Edwards AFB, I drove out to view the landing, shuttle flew directly over my head.

                                                                           

h.) STS-26 Return to Flight, I drove out to see the Discovery landing.

                                                                   

i.) I consulted on Hypersonic Tether Development; invented several concepts for aerospace tethers; Space Elevator Lifter Concept (OTIS Elevator)

                                       

j.) STS-64 Launch Sep 9 1994, attended launch with family and friends.

k.) Delta-4 family of launch vehicles, I designed optical communications for ER/WR Delta-4 launch pads.

 

I have worked with hardware that withstood the extreme depth of the ocean, to the hard vacuum and radiation environment of outer space, to the battle fields of Iraq, and everything in between!  I engineer system solutions for the aerospace and commercial marketplace so you don’t have to!
