March 23rd, 2002 Yesterday in the USA country of Epcot (where I work of course), we had new people come in to sell their pottery, wood work, and glass blowing items. So of course I was excited to see a pottery wheel. I jumped at the chance to ask to use it on my day off and they said, "Sure!" I know I'll be terrible for a while since I haven't thrown in forever, but yay! So today was my first day back into merchandise for quite sometime since I've been working in attractions since they trained me. And wouldn't ya know it, I was really rusty! I keep making so many 'first day on the job' mistakes it wasn't even funny. So then we had a girl that only trained the day before and somehow was asked to hang around me for a while that day so that the trainer could have a break. Okay, I'm alright with "training" someone, but when it got really busy and the pottery owner guy came in to tell *me* to hurry up at the same time, it just got out of hand. Totally pissed me off since I had no control over how slow the trainee was counting out her change or rather how many people wanted to be in line. But at least it's getting busy now! Finally! :) So I've decided to add a "line of the day" that old men and teens always say to me. Some are rather hilarious! Line of the day: "I've walked all around these countries (he's speaking about the Epcot world showcase) and I still think the American girls are the prettiest." Hm.. original.. I'll him that. :)
