May 2nd, 2002 Auditions were today. It didn't go as well as I had hoped however. The dance rountine had TERRIBLE transistion steps which made it sooo difficult to contuct. I swear they just threw steps together. Anyway, I froze at one point and felt terrible. Then it took them forever to call my number (of course I felt very generic at the time with a number taped to myself). When they did they said that I would not be able to be a character performer but that I could be a character greeter. They also didn't bother to even concider me for a face character because I wouldn't be a performer. Which is stupid concidering the face characters don't do any dancing unless it's the *one* show inwhich you have to train to be in anyways. So all in all, I'm a little pissed. All I wanted was a definate yes or no for face character and I would be fine. So for now I'm going to work on networking with my area manager so that he can continue working on getting me an interview with the director of entertainment here. I'm too stubborn to let this go. And in the mean time, I think it's time I get back into some modern dance classes. Line of the day: I finish my spiel for the attaction which includes the line, "and please take small children by the hand". And as I take the show upstairs a guy (in his 30s) comes up to me and says to me seriously, "I'm a child, will you take me by the hand?" Ewww.. To say the least I hurried upstairs and quickly took the show in. Unfortunatly, I didn't call the theater to tell them they where coming. Oops!
