Victims
Peter Sutcliffe, also known as the Yorkshire Ripper is
now serving a life sentence in prison after his
conviction for the murder of 13 and attempted murder
of 7. During the time of the killings, his place of
residence was in Bradford, UK. Sutcliffe was a
sadist, meaning he enjoyed making his victims suffer
while he killed them. His motive is said to be
sexual gratification. Sutcliffe waited until his
victims were alone so he can could have an effortless
attack. He hit his victims on the head with a hammer
until they fell to the floor. Then he would pull out
a knife or a screwdriver and stab his victims in the
chest and stomach. It is said that his victims were
already dead when he stabbed them. His methods were
very unorganized, as if he killed only when he felt
like it or the time seemed right. All of the murders
took place between July 1975 to January 1981 in the
vacinity of Yorkshire, Northern England. His victims
were mainly prostitutes.
Trial: During his trial Sutcliffe attempted to prove
his insanity. Unfortunately for him the jury felt
differently and he was incarcerated for life, or a
recommended sentence of 30 years.
