Other:

Elsie was picked up by VSH during a mustang roundup and placed for public adoption via Facebook. Tina sent an inquiry and, after some discourse, Elsie came to live at Circle F.
After she was settled in we had her color tested - she hit positive for Pearl!.
She's also positive for DMRT3; her Silver test is still pending.

Genetic Notes:

Pearl, sometimes called Barlink Factor, is a dilution gene that alters a horse's phenotype when in it's homozygous state. A horse that is prl/n will look no different than a non-pearl, but a prl/prl will see a very unique alteration to it's coat coloration. Over red this alterations is sometimes called Apricot and, in some cases, can resemble an odd Champagne
(especially to the untrained eye).

Barlink Peaches N Cream was one of the first homo-pearls identified. She was originally registered as a Champagne, but DNA testing has proven her to be an Apricot.

Pearl is best publicized in the American Quarter Horse and derivative stock breeds (Appaloosa, Paint, etc). Pearl also exists in Paso, PRE/Andalusian, and many gaited breeds.
Circle F hosts the ONLY Pearl Registry in the TS3 equine community at large (CPHS).
