Summer X-Games Try outs

Day 2  Day 3

Day 1
The street course was gnarly, they put it right in what seemed to be the roughest part of the parking lot out in front of the entrance to Edison Field. I think I can speak for all skaters on this one, they should have put some slurry seal down or something like they have done in rough parking lots in the past. I can't even count how many hands were ripped open, elbows scraped and backs that got worked. Oh well onto the skating.

( On the Right is Omar Hassan )

Frank Hirata had a pretty decent run and ended up with doing an impressive street plant at the end of his run. Omar Hassan was looking good and smashed a feeble down the big rail, which ultimately landed him in the finals. Dan Pagau had a solid first run also which landed him in 11th and because Rodrigo TX who placed 10th didn't show up in time for the finals got in there on day 2. Markovich decided to not let the rough asphalt get him down and popped on some softies and cruised around the course without a sound, definitely the quietest skater on the course all weekend.

( On the Right is Chet Thomas )

Lucky basically ended up in the finals with a solid street dog type of run and almost went over the fence after pulling a front side nose grind on the box up on the platform. Chet Thomas was trying the hardest tricks on the course, which earned him 3rd in the finals, and I am convinced that if he stuck everything he would have taken it. Oscar Jordon managed to pretty much sprain his ankle in the first run and landed on his tailbone on the big rail in his second run and got worked, I hope he is walking ok today. Bam Margera showed up and skated a little and then entered the contest and when it came time to skate he had left the building.

The two riders that really stuck out were Chad Bartie and Chris Senn riding for Emerica. These guys were doing the biggest stuff and pretty much were going neck and neck and that is the way it was till the finals.
