Anticipation begins with the first glimpse of the big red truck rolling into town. Playbills soonafter appear in local storefronts announcing the arrival of The Travelling Wonder Show. The local newspapers announce the schedule for the coming attraction. You are sure to see Christopher Wonder walking his psychic pig to the diner that evening, and you may become acquainted with the lovely Clairlise reading palms at the beauty salon.

This first day beats out the drumroll leading to the cymbal crash of The Travelling Wonder Show.



The hot summer day is just cooling, and the sweet smell of candyfloss and freshly popped popcorn hangs in the air as you cross the field to the glowing tent. The carnival music grows louder. Balloons abound. You purchase your ticket from the funnyman at the table filled with programs and coloring books, and catch a glimpse of Christopher playing his accordion.

From pockets full of confetti The Wonder Show begins. The silence of the vast countryside is interrupted with laughter, gasps, and applause. Spectators are drawn onto the stage, and the excitement and humor of the performers creates an environment altogether unique. The hour-long show closes as photo souvenirs are snapped with the Wonder entertainers and the audience returns home with mementos of their extraordinary experience.
