Skip Stone's January 2000 book, Hippies From A to Z says: "during the Summer of Love, in San Fransico, using the term "hippies" to discribe the people who were flocking there." Skip goes on to explain how he usees the term 'hippies' to discribe the people who participated in the counterculture of the 60's and early 70's as well as those who presently subscribe to the philosophy of the hippie movement.
