Dear Round Robin:
I do feel honored and lucky to be drawn into the Round Robin, such a long-standing symbol and tool of Albrecht family connection.
Doreen, it is wonderful to meet you through the mail - thanks for the recent letter. I have been so delighted with the "Stories Grandma Remembers" that your mother aunt Olive wrote about her early experiences - mostly in Forestburg. Perhaps you've seen the stories. Aunt Olive was a wonder. Anyway, I have very recently had them typed and will send you a copy once I have a chance to go through and correct any typo's.
We had the pleasure of a visit from cousin Ian and Geri Robinson and daughters Chelsea and Crystal. They were able to spend a few days after Christmas with Doug & Sandy and with us. Through the years Laurette's and our families have had a special connection - from the early visits in Chilliwack and later here in California. We had lots of fun being tourists with them at Disneyland & Universal Studios, but most of all it was good to just visit and reminisce.
At Aunt Mabel's request, I have enclosed a Christmas card from Aunt Elizabeth, since she was on a trip when the robin landed earlier in the year.
Family life in Lakewood seems a bit quieter the last couple years. Scott and Matthew are both in high school (12th and 10th grades) - we are proud of the ways they are growing-up. Scott plans to attend a local college in the Fall and continue living at home. I've been quite busy - investing my evenings starting a medical reagent manufacturing business with a partner, in addition to my regular job. Lee fills-in beautifully in my absences to keep the family on an even keel.
Thanks to Lydia and Loui and the extended family for the hospitality in Blackfalds in July. It means so much, this family spirit.
Love,
Geoff and Lee Anderson
