I was lucky to be the first patient in Doug's surgery. But first I had to help Doug struggle with installing his first dental chair. We moved it on Sunday 24 April 1979 (Papakura absolutely dead) down from 1st floor surgery on Gt. So. Road put it onto my kids' red wagon and wheeled it two blocks to his new surgery. I had no energy left to get it up a flight of stairs and this was 20 years before Doug started working out. We were saved when a large Maori fellow came down the stairs, saw our plight and lent a hand. |
