Amado Balderas is a local poet who is gaining in popularity with his Chicano style poetry based on personal experiences and social conscience reflections.
You will be moved as he verbalizes his delicious poetry. You will find yourself relating to his verses in a personal way, whether he talks about a beloved family member or a long lost love.

Baderas’ poetry has been called “Nueva Onda”. It has a “New Wave” rap flavor with a Chicano touch that both entertains and captures the attention of the audience.

Balderas is a teacher and has organized some poetry readings at the Edinburg Public Library during the Spring of 2004. He is working on some graduate work (research on Americo Paredes) and on a manuscript of poetry.
