Art That Heals, Inc. presents Coffee Talk Series, now in its 3rd year
Featured readers include poets Ricardo Garza, a Valley native now from Dallas-Fort Worth, Daniel Garcia Ordaz, author of You Know What I'm Sayin'? and Mike Luna, who will be reading his work and presenting his musical stylings.

Feb. 25, 2006 starting at 8 p.m.
1625 N. Conway, Mission
The public is invited to this free event to come out and hear featured readers and participate in an “Open Mic” session: comedy, poetry, stories, music, etc.

If you would like to read during open mic, you must be present to sign up; there is no pre-sign-up. Come early! Open mic readers may read either from a published author or from their original work. Open mic readers will have ONLY 5 MINUTES. This is enough time for one short story or for two short poems. Please adhere to the 5-minute rule, since going over time means less people get to read later.

Friday around 6 p.m. through Sunday afternoon, February 2007 at Casa Merced in McAllen. Exact location/directions to be disclosed only to participants.

Art That Heals, Inc. presents "Life Mastery Retreat", a powerful, spiritual, fun, relaxing and life-shaping event.
This is free and available to people infected and affected by HIV, their friends, caregivers, family, and loved ones, and those interested in learning more about the disease in order to become a volunteer or caregiver.
This event is free. The cost per participant is about $150 but not a penny is due from any participant; we offer this retreat through donations and fundraising efforts.
However, we are accepting donations (both financial and in-kind) to provide for food, local transportation, and other needs, as well as to cover the expense of bringing in the retreat facilitators from Houston and New York (travel and fees). Aside from financial donations we seek food and door prize donations from the community.

Wednesday, December 1, 2005 at a location to be announced.
Contact: Daniel Garcia Ordaz, Founder & Director, Art That Heals, Inc. if you are interested in helping to plan and or host the event.

The public is invited to join families and friends in a Night of Remembrance/Memorial Service (All Faiths)

For a snapshot of the World AIDS Day Campaign visit the United Nations's site (look at bottom right "World AIDS Campaign" link) for more information on World AIDS Day.

Each year the United Nations and its partners designates a theme of focus for World AIDS Day; since year-round activities culminate on Dec. 1, the idea is to focus on the theme throughout the year.

We will base our program messages on this theme.

If anyone would like to sponsor a small orchestra (4 piece, etc.) or knows one who would donate their time, please let us know.
If anyone is interested in serving as a speaker or singer, please also have them contact us.

We will share more info on needs, especially volunteer duties as we get closer to the date.
