Art That Heals, Inc. started its “Coffee Talk Series” with a Standing-Room-Only turnout for its first-ever night of poetry & prose on February 28, 2004!
We continued our Coffee Talk on June 26, 2004 with featured readers and an “Open Mic” session.
Next Coffee Talk Series is on Feb. 25, 2006!!
Featured Poets are RGV native Ricardo Garza, now of Dallas-Fort Worth area, The Poet Mariachi, Daniel Garcia Ordaz, of Mission, author of You Know What I'm Sayin'? from El Zarape Press (2004). Special guest reader/musician is Mike Luna of Mission.
All fans of literature invited to join us. Read your favorite poem or short story (original works or from a favorite writer.) Free admission & free coffee. We will have pastries and used books/CDs for sale.
The event will run from 8 to 10:30 p.m.
The public is invited to Jitterz Coffee Bar at 1625 N. Conway Ave. in Mission. Directions available at www.mapquest.com or from our contacts.

“Open Mic” readers must sign up at the event with the Master of Ceremonies.
All open microphone readers are asked to respect a five-minute time limit on readings. You may read original work (poems or stories) or a famous work.
There is no admission fee, but we accept donations. (Food will be distributed by Art That Heals, Inc. directly to persons afflicted with HIV; any food left over will be donated to service agencies for distribution and use.
