A Word About our Finances

Updated Feb. 8, 2005

CONGRATULATIONS!!! & THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!!

Art That Heals, Inc., is now a 501 (c) 3 organization. We have been a nonprofit organization, recognized by the State of Texas and the U.S. Government with an Employee Identification Number.

We officially incorporated as a tax-exempt charitable nonprofit organization with the State of Texas in 2002 and are in good standing with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Secretary of State.

On June 30, 2004, we submitted our filing of the 501(c)3 (federal tax-exemption status) to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

During previous conversations we had been given indication by the IRS that our corporation would be recognized as a tax-exempt nonprofit entity, known as a 501 (c) (3).

The IRS agrees that donations made to Art That Heals, Inc., on or after Dec. 28, 2004 are tax-exempt since we are now recognized.

We will make a record of any substantial donations to our organization from businesses or individuals and will issue a receipt for amounts of or over $75 which will help us maintain our status; We will be happy to make receiptes available for other amounts, even lesser ones, upon request. We are recognized as a 501 (c) (3) as of Dec. 28, 2004.

Receipts will be mailed and may subsequently be used in preparing year 2004 taxes as tax-deductible contributions.

In summary, contributions to Art That Heals, Inc., are definitely tax-deductible for federal purposes, as of Dec. 28, 2004.

This is our official announcement (and update of our financial statement) that we have indeed received a final notification letter from the IRS.

The application for federal tax-exempt status, by law, will be available for review in its entirety; we will soon be making it available online. In the meantime, please contact us in writing to request a copy of the application or for more information. Fees will apply, but quite minimally, and strictly to cover the cost of copies and shipping, if applicable.
