Notes: An approved Course Planning Guide (CPG), signed by the student's advisor and the Associate Dean.

Courses which are acceptable electives in the (M), (S), (E), (SSH), and (F) categories are specified in the Course Category Lists. Courses which are acceptable according to regulations of the BE department are listed in the BE Undergraduate Manual available in the Department office, and as specified below.

In choosing electives in the several categories, the following rules must be followed:

*Courses in the (O) category must be selected from the (S) and (E) categories. However, at least TWO (2) courses in the (O) category must be from (E) category courses.

*At least THREE (3) electives in the (E) or (O) categories must be advanced course numbered 300 or higher.

*At least TWO (2) electives in the (E) or (O) categories must be BE courses numbered 400 or higher.

Courses in the (SSH) category must conform to the SEAS rules regarding breath and depth.

No more that TWO (2) BE 99 courses may be included as electives within the minimum requirement of 39 c.u. A BE 99 course will be considered to be at the level of the year in which it is taken; i.e., in the third year it will count as a 300 elective, etc.

Additional courses that exceed or otherwise do not fit these requirements must either be listed in the (F) category or taken in the other categories above the minimum requirements.

The Course Planning Guides are best viewed with the latest version of Netscape; the table format used to display the CPG may not show up well with other browsers.
