I started
International dancing in 1984. As soon as the first dance started,
I became entranced by the music. As I became more familiar with
the sounds of Balkan music, I recognized that Bulgarian music
had a special hold on me. I discovered that the songs which
I loved immediately were all from Bulgaria. I continued dancing
three or four times a week and in 1992 I joined Bosilek.
After having
graduated from college where I majored in Mathematics, I became
a math teacher in an engineering high school in Brooklyn. I
taught there for many years. When I decided to change careers,
I enrolled in New York University where I received an MBA in
Computer Science. Afterwards, I worked at Pepsi Cola as a programmer
and data base specialist and then worked at Morgan Stanley and
Viacom. For the last nine years of my career I worked at Chase
Manhattan Bank as a manager in the Information Systems area.
I am now retired and spend my time teaching ESL, studying French,
folk dancing and going to the ballet.
