. JOHAZA (GEHAZI) HOWARD was born 8 or 13 Oct 1786 and died 8 Oct 1864. A census record indicates they were permanent residents of Ellisburg, but Johaza was a ship's carpenter and perhaps the family went to various work sites with him, because the obituary of Laurel J. states he was born in Cleveland, NY, and another son, Albert Wayne was born in Leeds, Ontario.

Johaza married Hannah Cronk before 1820. (Hannah Cronk was born on 23 Jun 1800 in Herkimer County N Y and died on 6 Aug 1873.)
