Death Call Comes
To - C. H. Hartmann
Christian H.'Hartmann" 77, a
resident of Marengo for 28 years, passed away at-his home Saturday morning, 37 years to the day af ter the death of his father .
Mr. Hartmann had not enjoyed his usual health for several months but! his final illness dated back only eight! days prior to his demise. Born in Lancaster, N Y.Jan, 9 1865
Mr. Hartmann moved with his; parents to Mineral Paint Wis., at the age of two years. Three years later the famiily came to iowa county,.
.Thruout the active years of his life- he operated his farm northeast of town, now occupied by his son Frank.
In Marengo 28 Years -
On Oct 18, 1892, Mr. Hartmann was united in marrage to Miss Rosena Weisser
at Marengo . Twenty eight years ago they moved into Marengo and into the residence where the family home has since remained.
Mrs Hartmann died in September 1915

Mr. 'Hartmann had been a member of the Methodist church for 32 years.'
Among those who survive are four children, Paul M., Frank G. and Miss Lenora K., Iowa county superintendent of schools, of Marengo and Mrs. Theresa Rinehart of Victor; 12 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Moffle & Des Moines and Mrs. Libbie Allen of Audubon. i
Funeral services .were conducted at,the Methodist church Monday afternoon, the Rev. Claude R. Cook crating. Music was provided by Mrs. Maude Bishop and Donna Freeze with '.Mrs. 'R. 'R. Hibbs at the piano. Burial was in Bishop Cemetery.
