Thomas Bradbury and Mary Jequis ©

Believed to have been born around 1745 in Bedworth, Warwickshire, a baptism has been located for a Thomas Bradbury.  The son of William Bradbury and his wife Ann (nee Staples), he was baptized in the Parish Church Bedworth on the 5th January 17461.

The next we hear of Thomas is when, on the 18th May, 1766, he marries Mary Jequis, by Banns, in the Bedworth Parish Church2.  The record states both Thomas and Mary were from Bedworth, and they both made their Mark.   The marriage was conducted by William Baddily and the witnesses were William King and Thomas Diall.

Mary the daughter of William Jequis and his wife Mary (nee Warranes), was baptized in the Bedworth Parish Church on the 15th February, 17401.

Bedworth Parish Records & Ancestry Public Trees suggest Thomas and Mary had at ten children: Mary 1770, she married George Johnson 1789; Thomas 1772; William 1774; Job 1777; Robert 1779; Elizabeth 1781-1783; Job 1784; Charles 1787; Joseph 1789; and Elizabeth 1790.

A burial record, on the 24th October, 1803, has been located in the Bedworth Parish Records for a Thomas Bradbury, Husband of Mary3.

It is thought Mary died a few years later, and a burial for her has been located in Bedworth, on the 9th September, 18083.
