William Bradbury and Ann Staples ©

Ancestry Family trees indicate William, possibly the son of Thomas & Janne, was born in Bedworth around 1715.  A baptism for a William, in Bedworth, Warwickshire, on the 8th April, 17161 has been located, and is believed to be that of our William.

The Bedworth Parish records show that William married Ann Staples on the 30th September, 1744.  The record indicated they were both from the Parish of Bedworth2.

Thought to have been born around 1720, a possible Baptism has been located for an Ann Staples on the 29 May 17201, the daughter of Robert Staples and his wife (possibly nee Hall), St Mary the Virgin Parish Church Walsgrave-on-Sowe Warwickshire

It is thought William was possibly a coal miner in the district.  Records also indicate William and Ann had six children: Thomas 1746, he married Mary Jequis 1766; Charles 1748; Martha 1750; Mary 1753; Ruth 1755; and Ann 1758.

A burial for a William Bradbury in Bedworth on the 4th January, 1788, has been located3.  This is thought to be our William who would have been about 72years of age.  This record shows William was buried by the Parish, suggesting he was a Pauper at the time of his death.  It also indicates William was from the Coal Fields suggesting he may have been a miner.  It also reveals he was a Widower, but to-date no record of a burial for Ann has been found.
