Joseph Knight & Elizabeth Mustin ©

Baptised in the St James Parish Church in Badsey on the 18th February, 17491, Joseph was the son of Henry Knight and his wife Elizabeth (nee Taylor).

Joseph & Elizabeth Mustin were married in St James Parish Church, Badsey, on the 6th January, 1772, by Bann2.  Both were from the Parish and both made their mark.  The ceremony was conducted by Thomas Ashfield and the witnesses were Will'm Collett & Tho's Draker.

The daughter of Charles Mustin and Mary (nee Durnel), Elizabeth was baptised on the 3rd September, 1753, in the Parish Church of St James, Badsey1.

Records indicate Joseph and Elizabeth had fourteen children Mary 1772; Elizabeth, 1773; Joseph 1775-1782; Sarah 1777-1780; William 1779; Hannah 1782-1783; Jane 1784; Charles 1786, he married Sarah Morris 1811; Hannah 1788; Henry 1790; Richard 1793; Abigail 1794; James 1796-1797; and Ann 1799.  It would appear all were baptised in Badsey, and sadly like so many in this era, Joseph and Elizabeth had to deal with some of their children dying quite young.

At the age of 77, Joseph died and he was buried on the 26th February, 18283.  Incredibly, records suggest Elizabeth was buried just three days later on the 29th February3.  They were both buried in the Parish Churchyard at Badsey, but it is not known if they were buried in the same grave.
