James Knight & Mary Lea ©

Although Knight is recorded as the most common name in Badsey from the 17th Century, very little is known about this couple.  However  an article on the Badsey site suggest James was born outside of the Parish of Badsey and Aldington, Worcestershire, around 1630, and Mary Lea was born around  1633, also outside the Parish of Badsey.

This same site gave a reference of James' marriage to Mary Lea on the 9th October, 16591, in Badsey.  A search of the parish Records on a LSD Film confirmed this event.

To-date only one child of this couple has been identified: Joseph 1666, he married Eleanor in 1685.  It is not known when or where James and Mary died or were buried.
