James Morris and Ann (possibly Done) © To-date no positive record of a baptism for James Morris has been found, however it is thought he was born around 1765, in or around Worcestershire or Gloucestershire, England. A possible Baptism for James has been located in Awre, Gloucestershire3. The son of William and Eleanor Morris he was baptized on the 30th March, 1768. Awre is about 50 km from Badsey where James died and was buried It is believed that James married Anne (possibly Done) around 1792, but to-date no record has been located. Born about 1774, like James a possible record has been found for Ann’s baptism. The Daughter of William Done Anne was baptised on the 2nd October, 1773 in Bibury, Gloucestershire3. Bibury is approximately 40km west of Awre and 40km south of Badsey where she and her husband were buried. Records indicate that James and Ann had eight children: Sarah 1794-1879, she married Charles Knight, Mary Ann 1797, Thomas 1799, Elizabeth 1801, John 1803, James 1805, Hannah 1810, William 1812, Joseph 1814-1814 and Job 18163. Records indicate these children were possibly all baptised in Badsey, Worcestershire. Joseph died at the age of 56, and was buried in Badsey on the 18th July, 18242. Ann has been located on the 1841 Census1, living in Badsey. She is recorded as a 70 year old Labourer who was born in the County of Worcestershire. Badsey Parish records indicate Ann died in 1843. Aged 69 was buried in Badsey on the 14th February, 18432.
