Thomas Morris & Elizabeth Mealinge (nee Snedwell) ©

Records indicate Thomas, the son of William Morris and his wife Sarah (nee Perry), was baptized in the Parish Church at Marston Sicca, Gloucestershire on the 26th July, 16851.  It is not known what occupation Thomas followed, but it is assumed he was an Agricultural worker of some kind.

It looks as if Thomas's family, or Thomas, himself moved to Dorsington at some stage as he married Elizabeth Mealinge (nee Snedwell) on the 5th December, 1713 in the Dorsington Parish Church2.  Dorsington is approximately 3km north-north-east of Marston Sicca.

Elizabeth was baptized in the Pebworth Parish Church on the 17th September, 1676, her parents were Thomas Snedwell and his wife Anne (nee Collins)1.  Elizabeth first married Tombes Mealinge in Pebworth on the 9th November, 16992.  It would appear they moved to DOrsington shortly after their marriage as they had five children: Thomas 1700-1720; John 1702; William 1706-1727; Samuel 1709-1722; and Elizabeth 1711-1711, all baptized in Dorsington.  Thombes died late in 1711 and was buried on the 17th January 17123.  Pebworth is roughly 4.5km south of Dorsington.

Records indicate Thomas & Elizabeth had two children: Sarah 1717-1767, she married John Wesson 1742; and Samuel 1723, both baptized in Dorsington1.

Marston Sicca, Pebworth and Dorsington were all part of a larger Rural District of Gloucestershire, so it is most likely the families of Thomas and Elizabeth were agricultural workers of some kind and possibly moved around following work.  In 1931 this rural district was transferred to the Stratford-on-Avon District of Warwickshire.

Elizabeth died at the age of 57, and was buried in the Parish Churchyard on the 5th November, 17333.

On the 10th January, 1741 Thomas was buried in the Parish Churchyard3, he was 56years old.
