William Solice and Ann Fletcher ©

It is not known when William was born, but a reference to a possible baptism for a William Salliss has been found in Childswyckham, Gloucestershire.  This record shows William as the son of John Salliss and his wife Elizabeth (possibly Gibbs), with his baptism held, in St Mary the Virgin Church, on the 29th January, 17761

The next documentation held for William is his marriage to Ann Fletcher, by Banns, on the 16th May, 17992, in Ebrington, Gloucestershire.  The marriage was performed by William Mound (Minister), and both William and Ann made their mark, as did the witnesses Thos Halford and Mary Southney. Ebrington is approximately 10km east of Childswyckham.

It is thought Ann was born around 1765.  A reference to a possible baptism, for Ann Fletcher, daughter of Thomas & Mary, has been located in Ebrington, Gloucestershire, on the 2nd March, 17661, but not yet confirmed as our Ann.

FamilySearch indexes indicate William and Ann had four children: Job 1800-1824; Thos 1802; Daniel 1806, he married Amelia Powell 1834; and Elizabeth1808.  It appears they were all baptised in Pebworth, which is approximately 10km north-north-west of Ebrington.

A probable burial has been located for William.  Dying  in Broad Marston, he was buried In Pebworth on the 21st August, 18303.  His age recorded as 52.

Almost three years later Ann died in Broad Marston, she was 68years old.  She was buried, also in Pebworth on the 14th May, 18333
