This indenture made the 24th day of November 1893 by and between J. EDGAR TORREY of Jefferson County and State of Mississippi of the first part and the Hickory Block Methodist Episcopal Church of America in the County of Jefferson, State of Mississippi of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars will and truly paid by C. R. BUIE, JAKE MCNAIR, CALVIN WILLIAMS, ED SMITH, HENRY LEWIS, Trustees of said party of second part at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell and convey wit said party of the second part its successors and assigns all that tract and parcel of land situated in District No 1 in Jefferson County and State of Mississippi. Known and designated as follows to wit two acres of land bounded on the West by Parsonage land, on the North by Spring Branch on South by Natchez and Gallatin Road, on the East by J. E. Torrey field.
