Asa
James Hurst lived all his life
at Port Hilford, Guysborough County, Nova Scotia. Memories from the Past is a
collection of his stories from bygone days of Port Hilford and
neighbouring communities.
Many people are familiar with Asa’s stories that appeared in the Guysborough Journal from 1999 to
his death in 2002. These stories include events which occurred to his
family long before he was born and of life at Port Hilford and the
surrounding area. Most are very historical. Asa also tells of how it
was growing up in the community he was so much a part of. Added to the
book are stories Asa did not have a chance to publish before he died
and a little about Asa’s family.
