THE SPELL ON THE TONGUE

& THE GRAMMARY OF SONG

Robin Williamson and Hugh Lupton

Together Robin & Hugh offer a magical evening of stories, songs, tunes and performance poetry… they bring the spoken word to life, evoking and invoking the mysteries of these islands and the elaborate green twists and turns of the Celtic and Saxon imagination.

Robin Williamson founded the legendary Incredible String Band in 1965. Their music influenced a generation (Bob Dylan admired them, the Beatles and Stones imitated them, Salman Rushdie, Billy Connolly, Chris Bonnington, The Archbishop of Canterbury, Stephen Fry and Robert Plant were all fans). Since the mid-seventies Robin has been ploughing his own idiosyncratic furrow, re-inventing a bardic tradition for the British Isles. He is a captivating performer, a fine harper, a writer and multi-instrumentalist.

The performance is in two halves of approximately 55 minutes.

The show is going out at £900
