Our
Mission
The Legacy Health Foundation is a unique,
non-profit community initiative located in
Oberlin, Ohio, that was created to address the
critical nutritional and preventative health
needs of underserved populations.
Our mission is:
- To
provide access to free or low-cost organic and natural
healing foods and products, and other
necessities of daily living, in a cooperative and
dignified setting;
- To make our clients aware of, and promote avoidance
of, toxic chemicals and other
detrimental substances that are present in many
food products and our environment that can
contribute to the manifestation of disease;
- To encourage proactively the
use of natural non-invasive
preventative approaches to fostering and
maintaining optimal health;
- To guide,
empower, and motivate individuals with knowledge
that will help them to make informed nutrition
and healthcare decisions that will improve their
physical health, mental ability, and well-being,
and ultimately that of their families and
communities; and
- To
support the further enrichment of lives
through community involvement and gifts that
may include, subject to funding
availability, and when there is a lack of
other community resources available to
remedy the situation, funding for:
Utilities assistance, job training, childcare assistance,
community events, emergency shelter,
seasonal and interview clothing,
transportation, counseling,
and other initiatives where there is deemed
to be an appropriate critical need that will benefit
the welfare of our clients.
Legacy’s products and services touch
individuals within every cultural and
socioeconomic group, and are provided at little
or no cost.
- Children with learning disabilities, health
problems, and limited access to nutritional
foods.
- The
elderly, who often have special health and
nutritional needs.
- The
chronically ill, where traditional medical
treatments have failed.
- The
economically disadvantaged, including the
indigent, the unemployed, and the homeless.
Although the effort is appreciated, and the
intentions good, food products typically
provided by organizations that serve the needy,
due to cost constraints, are often inexpensive,
contain many toxic additives, and have little
nutritional value.
We are currently experiencing a health
crisis on a global scale, with a virtual
epidemic of diseases and disorders among both
the young and the old, including diabetes,
autoimmune conditions, asthma, allergies,
nervous disorders, obesity, chronic
fatigue, fibromyalgia, heart disease, cancer,
and many more.
Much of our general food supply is
bleached, irradiated, processed, and stripped of
wholesome nutrients, and often contain harmful
disease-promoting chemicals, preservatives,
antibiotics, steroids, and other toxic elements.
Many people are unaware of the multitude
of contaminants present in most foods and the
significant negative impact they can have on human
health. If
you are contaminated with toxins that can
trigger disease and are weak, malnourished,
and unable to fight disease due to the lack of
nutrients present in most foods, it can become
very difficult to recover and function as a
productive member of society.
The
Legacy Health Foundation strives to reinforce, through
educational initiatives, that critical to
healing and maintaining good health is the
elimination of toxins in the body and the
addition of highly nutritional elements.
We provide access to wholesome
non-toxic foods, nutritional information,
motivational support and encouragement,
complementary natural healing products, and
foster preventative and proactive approaches to
nutrition and healthcare that enable
individuals to make informed decisions that can
help them improve and maintain their health for
life.
