Dock Boggs (FA 2351) | |
The self-titled Dock Boggs (FA 2351, 1964) was the first LP released by Dock Boggs. This Folkways Records release, produced by Mike Seeger, features the first recorded music by Dock Boggs since the late 1920's. This album was later released as Dock Boggs, Legendary Singer & Banjo Player (DI-111, 1964), The Legendary Dock Boggs (FV 9025, [1964]), and was also included on His Folkway Years 1963 - 1968 (SFW 40108, 1998).

Liner NotesThe liner notes consist of "Notes by Mike Seeger," an article made up of quite a few, very interesting Dock Boggs facts. There are also lyrics provided for every song, along with a few notes per each song. My copy of the liner notes also includes a "Supplement" by Ralph Rinzler. Was this supplement included with the initial release of this album? If you can provide any information on this, email me. |
