Cheyenne opened the door and slipped outside, pausing when she took in the threatening clouds. Although it was early evening, the sky was dismally gray and cloaked with a veil of heavy vapor. Crimson streaks stained the hazy billows as if the asphyxiated sun struggled to break free of its smothering shroud.
Cheyenne, a nurse from the planet earth, is swept up in a vortex and deposited on the earth like planet of Zandar, where she is captured by Lord Darian Andreas, a handsome warrior. Darian’s heart is lost to the beautiful woman. When he discovers she’s from earth and that she bears the prophecy’s mark, he will do anything to win the competitions to prove that he’s worthy of her love.
Shannon Leigh’s writing style is descriptive and brings the world of Zandar to life for the reader. The characters are well thought out and colorful. The men, warrior like and to die for, much like the Scot’s of the 18th century of earth. Cheyenne was a well- rounded emotional character with courage and dignity. I really enjoyed reading Darian and Cheyenne’s story. The plot was excellent and unraveled at a slow pace but it kept you glued to the pages to find what’s coming next.
I would recommend this story to those who love romance and for those who love historical romances set in Scotland. This story has some love scenes, which I wouldn’t recommend for young readers.
